The artist in practice
Learning around movement, sensory awareness, attention, and confidence within the practices artists already use.
BUILT WELL03 / BUILT WELL FOR THE ARTS
Neuroscience-informed learning in support of creative practice.

OUR DIRECTION
Creative work asks artists to pay attention, make choices, use their bodies and senses, and return to a practice over time. Built Well for the Arts explores how neuroscience-informed education can support those parts of the creative process without reducing art to a formula.
This direction includes musicians, actors, dancers, performers, and visual artists. We are interested in learning that helps artists explore perception, movement, attention, and expression while respecting the knowledge, discipline, and individual voice they already bring to their work.
TAKING SHAPE
Learning around movement, sensory awareness, attention, and confidence within the practices artists already use.
Workshop and curriculum ideas that let creative work and neuroscience-informed learning inform one another.
Perspectives from artists, arts educators, and researchers to identify useful questions and assess what emerges.
DEVELOPING TOGETHER
Our programs are still in development. We want the experience of the people and communities this work is intended to serve to help shape what we build, alongside the research that informs our approach.
